THE SALAZAR FAMILY
My world of photography began decades ago as a hobbyist, documenting travel, family events and the natural world. As my interest grew, I decided to share my work and began selling images in late 2005. I enjoy photographing a variety of subjects and focus primarily on the great vistas, intimate landscapes, close-ups and cultural beauty that surrounds us all. My aim has always been to produce the finest quality prints, worthy of framing and display, During the film years and with traditional wet chemistry darkroom processes, I was never satisfied with print detail, color richness, vibrancy or sharpness of prints. With advancements in digital technology, everything in the photography workflow has now changed, from image capture to print. My feeling is that today's fine art printmaking processes using computer software and pigment ink printers, combined with truly remarkable fine art papers, can produce the highest quality color prints yet, and indeed have moved photography into the world of fine art.
Like most photographers today, I now shoot exclusively with digital capture, then personally process, edit and print images on an Epson large format pigment ink printer. I also mat and frame myself using only conservation/museum quality methods and materials, leaving a print border to display the image title and artist signature. I hope you enjoy your visit to my website and that these images succeed in communicating the beauty and richness of the world we live in.
